Abortion Procedures - FEMINIST MAJORITY FOUNDATION
I read an article about a South Carolina bill, in which would require women to wait 24 hours after viewing an ultrasound prior to having an abortion. A House subcommittee approved the legislation and now it will be passes on to the South Carolina state House Judiciary Committee. The current requirements in South Carolina to proceed with an abortion are women have to wait just 1 hour after viewing their fetus to decide. My opinion on this topic is very harsh. I personally DO NOT believe in abortion. I might be old fashion but I was always tought that if you don't want a child, don't do things that can make you have a child. I know this is a different day and time but come on, murder is killing a living, breathing soul. Isn't a fetus the same thing, just in a womb? I do see both sides of the story though. I understand that there are certain circumstances that women have to have an abortion. I know that with things like tubal pregnancy it is required to abort the pregnancy to keep the mother alive. Not only the health aspect of abortion, but I do understand that if someone is molested or raped, they probably wouldn't want to carry a child from that. Still, I truly believe that once a child is conceived and it begins developing organs, hands, fingers, and toes, it is a human. It has a heartbeat and does breath but in a different manner than we do. For the sake of the children I hope South Carolina does pass this legislation. I believe that if mothers we forced to go home and think about killing something so innocent, a fewer amount of them would ever go through with the process.

Cassie...
ReplyDeleteI agree with your old fashion ways. I personally don't believe in abortion, but to each their own. What bothers me is ...... it's one thing to make a mistake, there a lot of couples that would love to have that baby. After researching this subject I found the following;
"Each year, thousands of abortions are done on babies big enough to cradle in your arms,Almost half of the women walking into abortion clinics have already had at least one previous abortion."So is it a mistake if you keep repeating the mistake? I DON'T THINK SO!http://www.californiaprolife.org/abortion/aborstats.html
Cassie,
ReplyDeleteI agree with you, I am completely against abortion. I would try my best to talk someone out of getting an abortion, however I would never force them to, even if it was possible. I'd like to think that there is no way in the world i would ever get an abortion, but no one really knows until they're put in the desperate situations. I also agree that if someone is doing something that could lead to pregnancy then they should be willing to accept the pregnancy part if it happens. If you're old enough and responsible enough to have sex then you should be old and responsible enough to accept the responsibilities that come with it.
I also wrote my blog on this article. I completely agree with your opinion. I think abortion is just a way to not face the consequences of your actions. My main thought was that the 24 hour waiting period would make the women think more clearly about what they are doing.
ReplyDeleteI agree abortion is totally wrong, but thats my opinion, unfortunately there are others who think the opposite. I believe that the twenty four hour is a big step forward, but it's not the answer.
